At 10:45 am on July 16th, 2015 a muslim terrorist opened fire on two military installations in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He first committed a drive-by shooting at a recruiting center just off Lee Hwy near Hwy 153. He then traveled down Hwy 153 to a U.S. Navy reserve center to continue the cowardly attack on military personnel. The attacker was killed by the brave Chattanooga Police Department, but not before 4 Marines died on scene and 1 Sailor who later died in the hospital from his wounds.
On December 16, following an investigation, the FBI said “the shootings were motivated by foreign terrorist propaganda.” All of these brave men were were shot at the U.S. Navy Reserve center. The victims attempted to distract the muslim terrorist, returned fire from personal side arms, and assisted people in climbing the fence to safety. Some of the Marines died providing cover for a larger group to escape.
